Privacy Policy

It is our policy to protect your Privacy, which is why we created this Platform.

Content posted by users of this Platform is encrypted with Forward Secrecy before it leaves your device. We can't see your data.

If you choose to use our Platform, then you agree to the fine print:

Cookies: We do not like them and do not use them.
Geolocation Information: We do not want to know where you are, where you have been, or where you are going to be. So we do not collect it.
IP address: Seems like we covered this, we do not want it and do not collect it.
Website Browsing History: We collect, sort, and disseminate all of your browsing history. Just kidding. We aren't that company. We do not want it, do not collect it.
Number of social networks you bring online: We don't care. We don't want our network (the IronForge) becoming a new centralized cloud. Please, for the love of all things, setup or join as many private networks as you wish.

We do use a fake number, called a deviceid, that is created when you install the app that provides us the ability to send push notifications, like "hey, you have a new message!".

Terms of Service

Platform purpose

IronCircles was designed as a secure space for trusted connections. Circles are private by default. You must know someone's username to invite them, and new members require approval votes from existing circle members.

Age requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to register for an account.

Acceptable use

You agree to use IronCircles only for legal, authorized, and acceptable purposes. The following are prohibited:

Harassment or abuse of other users
Illegal conduct of any kind
Unauthorized access attempts
Distributing malware or harmful software

Child Safety

IronCircles, Inc has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). The following are strictly prohibited on the IronCircles platform:

Any content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers minors
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
Grooming, solicitation, or any predatory behavior targeting minors
Sharing, distributing, or requesting any content that sexualizes minors

Any account found to be engaged in CSAE will be immediately and permanently banned. IronCircles will report any known or suspected child sexual abuse material or exploitation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement.

To report a child safety concern, you have three options:

In-app report menu: Open the upper left navigation menu from the home page and tap Report Violation of Terms to submit a report with details.
Post-level report: Tap on any specific post, select the report option from the popup menu, and follow the prompts.
Email: Contact us directly at support@ironcircles.com.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Password resets require involvement from pre-selected circle members. If you lose your device, designated recovery assistants can lock the account.

Moderation

Networks and circles are self-moderated by their members. An in-app reporting feature allows members to flag inappropriate content, which is then removed and reported to the circle.

Invitation controls

Users can block invitation requests at any time. You are never added to a circle without your consent. Existing members must vote to approve new members.

IronCoin and payments

IronCoin is a platform reward currency that can be earned through creator monetization and purchased via PayPal. IronCoin has no guaranteed monetary value and IronCircles reserves the right to change cashout rates, minimum amounts, or discontinue cashout at any time.

By participating in any IronCoin transaction, you represent that:

You are the rightful owner of the account and any IronCoin balance in it
All coins were earned or purchased through legitimate activity on the platform
You will not use IronCoin transactions to launder money, evade taxes, or conceal the proceeds of any illegal activity
You will not attempt to exploit platform mechanics to generate fraudulent coin balances
You will not sell, transfer, or trade your account or IronCoin balance to another person

IronCircles complies with applicable financial regulations and may be required to report transactions to relevant authorities. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account suspected of financial fraud, money laundering, or abuse of the IronCoin system, and to withhold or reverse any cashout associated with such activity.

Users are solely responsible for reporting any income received through IronCoin cashouts to the appropriate tax authorities in their jurisdiction.

The IronCircles app is built with open-source software. Each package is used under its own licence. The components below ship inside the app and need credit here.

Lato (UI font)

FFmpeg and mpv (video playback in the Windows app)

The Windows desktop app plays video with libmpv (mpv v0.41.0-1089-gb4b5d69a4) and FFmpeg (N-126967-gf8f84348d), built as LGPL (mpv -Dgpl=false; FFmpeg LGPL version 3), and loaded as a separate, replaceable library (libmpv-2.dll). To use your own build, set the environment variable LIBMPV_LIBRARY_PATH to its full path.
